I want to make a creamy chicken soup, I think I find really good recipes for Chicken Noodle Soup only, but I want the texture thicker. Can I replace the chicken stock or something like that for some chicken soup? is thick or should a different approach? Thanks so much!

I would add a can of cream of chicken soup for sure! That sounds so good right now.

Make a white sauce with cream and add in there.
    2Tbs. flour
    2Tbs butter
1 cup cream melt the butter slowly add in the flour then slowly add in the cream(should we warmed in micro) you can of course double that depending on what you want.

Use the heaviest cream you can find.

Add heavy cream and use a hand blender to mix and smooth out the texture. Unless you want it to remain chunky style then don’t use the “boat motor”.

Yes, it sounds crazy, but my Grandma used to add warm milk to any kind of soupy dish that we wanted thicker. She used 2% I think

I add Cream of Chicken soup, but I also saute my celery, onion and carrots in some butter and flour before adding to my soup, it works wonders! All the yummy flavor sweats out and you get a nice thickener to boot.

How to make homemade chicken noodle soup

This is a nice and simple soup to make when it is cold outside or when you are feeling sick. My daughter loves this soup when she is sick. I just had to make some last night

    Things You’ll Need:
    Chicken Tenders
2 cans of cream of chicken soup with herbs
    Noodles or spaghetti
    8 cups of water
    POT
    Step 1:
Rinse chicken, cut into pieces add to pot. Add water to chicken, boil until chicken looks done about 20 minutes.

    Step 2:
Add noodles (as much or as little as you want) Noodles will expand, so you might want to add more water if you like a lot of noodles.

    Step 3:
After that is done, add cream of chicken soup. Simmer for about 10 minutes. Serve with French bread, bread and butter or just crackers.

Make a roux out of butter and flour, stir that into the soup.
You can also add some heavy cream for the flavor.

  10. chef_renee64 Said:

You could add some Heavy Cream, Milk with Roux (equal amounts of Flour/Butter) Sour Cream or just add some slurry (cornstarch with ice cold water) just remember, once you have added your thickening adgent, re-adjust your seasonings as the properties will change when you thicken your soap (they tend to soak up alot of flavors). One time, in a pinch at my friends house, I had the Chicken Soup all ready and then I found out that the elderly lady I was cooking for wanted something creamy, I just threw in a can of Cream of Potato Soup, I could’ve also added the Cream of Mushroom, Celery, Tomato or Onion…………..ANY of those would’ve added that cream level and extra flavor which is always welcome. Hope this helps you out today, Happy Sunday to you!

Add a can of condensed milk, and a little cream corn starch. Instant mashed potatoes would work also.

Wow, you’ve got lots of great options from the kids online today! I like adding a couple cans of cream corn and a tin of crab meat to mine. Crazy easy and super flavor combo.
